over the network
The following command sends the directory /srv/www/htdocs over to server:
rsync -avv --stats --progress --partial /srv/www/htdocs server:/srv/www/htdocs
locally
Copy a folder .VirtualBox to /root:
rsync -avv --stats --progress --partial .VirtualBox/ /root/.VirtualBox
