To install the Flash Player Plugin under Ubuntu Linux

open a console and enter

mkdir .mozilla/plugins

Find out if you have a 32bit or 64bit system
Download the FlAsh PLayer from http://www.adobe.com
Follow the instructions at http://www.jamesward.com/2010/09/15/install-flash-player-on-64-bit-linux/
