To configure your touchscreen you will have to find out your distribution.
Ubuntu 8.10
Call
calibration
and follow the on-screen instructions.
Ubuntu 9.04
To get your touchscreen configured with Ubuntu 9.04, use evtouch, not calibration.
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-evtouch
