Xprop

xprop and xwininfo allow you to find out information about windows on your graphical desktop. This can be useful to

• get rid of windows you don't want (Find out a window's application and remove it from startup)
• Record a video from your desktop for only one window like this:

recordmydesktop --windowid 0x2400014
